Sightseeing in Aizuwakamatsu
Kyukamura Urabandai currently has 4 interns from Vietnam. They are working hard every day as a member of our team, and I wanted them to come all the way, so I wanted them to experience Japanese culture, so the other day I went sightseeing at Tsuruga Castle in Aizuwakamatsu!
What is Tsuruga Castle?
It is a castle of the Aizu clan, and is famous as an impregnable castle that withstood the onslaught of the new government army for a month during the Boshin War. The red tiles are distinctive. Currently, it is a tourist destination in Aizuwakamatsu and is visited by many tourists from overseas.
The main focus this time is to tour the castle and enjoy matcha and sweets in the tea room inside the castle.
1...Change into a kimono
That's the first thing you have to do! Wear Japanese kimono.
Since you're only going to have tea, it's probably best to get changed.
This time I rented a kimono from Kizuna, a general store on Nanokamachi Street, but they also rent kimonos.
3 out of 4 people rented.
About a 30 minute wait...
That's a nice feeling!
*It costs 6,600 yen to rent for 2 hours
The temperature on that day was 12℃.
It looked a bit cold, but let's make up for it by having fun...
2...To Tsuruga Castle
I came to Tsurugajo wearing a kimono.
We will walk around the exhibits inside and see the Aizu clan from the castle tower.
Inside the castle, swords and helmets were on display.
We learned about the Byakkotai and the general.
Admission to the castle is 410 yen for adults and 150 yen for children.
This time I bought a ticket that includes the tea room.
The castle tower is located on the 5th floor of Tsuruga Castle.
Apparently, climbing the stairs in a kimono was more difficult than usual. (A good experience?)
What happened to Mt. Bandai and the streets of Aizu where you always spend time.
3...To the tea room “Rinkaku
Next, we went to Rinkaku, a tea room located within Tsurugajo Castle.
[What is a tea room?
A space created for the host of a tea ceremony to invite guests and serve tea.
It's a very small space and many have very attractive gardens.
Rinkaku in Tsuruga Castle also had a very beautiful garden, and the maple trees that were in season were also beautifully colored.
Everyone had a mysterious look on their faces and was enjoying their tea.
So delicious! There were both children, some who were a bit picky, and some who were a bit picky, but they all drank it all.
4...Have a specialty for lunch
When you come to Aizu, I definitely want you to try the ``sauce cutlet''.
So, I went to Medetaiya, which was recommended by the village staff.
It is about 10 minutes by car from Tsuruga Castle.
Since everyone was exhausted, we ordered a set of ramen and mini sauce katsudon.
And this is what came out.
After eating lunch, this tour ended!
We had a lot of new experiences, and everyone seemed to be having fun!
Aizuwakamatsu has other sightseeing spots as well.
Please enjoy Aizu based on the examples introduced this time!
